Finally, I am back again! After one year of a break - without any blog post or musical activity - I am pretty happy to be back for you and ready to continue my work with AlbrechtProductions! In the following, I briefly summarise my life in 2017/2018 when I did my master degree at the Middlesex University in London.
The module choice of my MA Arts Management course described in my last post appeared as the perfect fit, ensuring a very practice-oriented study. With all practical projects and written assignments, I logically pursued the goal to deepen my knowledge and extend my professional network in the music industry, both for-profit and non-profit organisations. I came in contact with a broad range of professionals/executives from London's biggest free festival Hanwell Hootie to Europe's biggest creative hub Tileyard Studios that hosts Mark Ronson's studio among others and runs its management, publishing and record company Tileyard Music associated with artists like Ella Eyre and Sigala. New age independent music publisher Sentric Music, Sony Music-owned digital distributor The Orchard, music label Marshall Records, the brand-new music and startup community The Rattle as well as Mi.Mu developing midi-controlling gloves used by artists like Ariana Grande and Imogen Heap completed my diversified journey through London's music industry. During the year, I was lucky enough to be able to create a fundraising plan and consulting document on behalf of the Hanwell Hootie besides developing and organising a prototype of an inter-university band contest Sound Excursion 2018, supported by the festival.
Not only the work and study was essential in the past year but also exploring the different art-related events in the British capital. I went to countless concerts ranging from classical music to post-hardcore/metal, theatre and opera performances, musicals and all kind of museums. I guess that you can live your entire life in London and you will be able to experience new things and visit unique places like KOKO and Alexandra Palace almost every day. Indeed, it is an awesome experience! Although my time in London was often exhausting and I struggled with my health here and there, I do not want to miss any second of experience I have gained there. I am also sure that I will see some people again in the future as my classmates and other established professional contacts.
The title of this blog article is "Milestone Reached..." - so what is the next one, the plan for the future? I can tell you that I recently signed an employment contract at a big IT-related company (for further information check out my LinkedIn profile in the near future). I am looking forward to this new chapter, but that does not mean that AlbrechtProduction is history. Definitively not! From now on, I will publish a new blog article every Sunday at 8 pm (CET), will be more active on all social media channels and work on new music productions I will inform you about in the future. So stay tuned and be prepared for the new chapter of AlbrechtProductions and its founder, me, myself and I - Benjamin Albrecht! :P
For all who are interested in my written work produced in the period of study, I can provide the documents on request if they do not include confidential material. Just use the e-mail address listed on my home page to contact me. For all who are not interested, I wish you a lovely Sunday evening, and I am glad that you found back to my blog after my absence. See you next week for another one... :)
