I am sure that you had tremendous and restful Christmas holidays where you could enjoy the time with your family and friends. Only two days left until we all will prepare ourselves to start in the new year 2020. In the following, I will quickly look back to what happened with AlbrechtProductions in the past year and what is planned for the upcoming year 2020.
2019 - A Quick Flashback
2019 mainly contained work related to my EP project production next to several side projects in which I helped metal/heavy rock and urban artists on the creative side during the songwriting process. Besides, I was accountable for mixdown and mastering reviews to approve productions to be finally released. During the EP production, I met numerous new creatives from different backgrounds and music genres that made the project work quite exciting and rich in variety. Many thanks to the key players who got me in touch with all those talented people and handed over my material to the right people as well as organised face-to-face meetings.
During the year, I was able to get my hands on new studio audio gear. The most noticeable pieces were Stam Audio SA-76 ADG, Stam Audio SA-4000EQ, PRS Guitar Custom 24 (35th Anniversary model), Adam A77X studio monitors, new cabling by Sommer Cable and several audio plugins/virtual instruments by brands like Universal Audio, Soundtoys, XLN Audio, Synchrosarts, Sonarworks, Neural DSP, Audiority and Celemony. The relocation and redesign of AP's project studio that were previously mentioned in the 2019's article were planned more in detail but will presumably not take place in the upcoming two years.
My Instagram account grew from 11.200 (December 2018) to roughly 15.000 followers to date. Since spring 2019, I regularly produce new original content for the profile. If you followed my posts during the past year, you might have recognised a reasonable increase in the quality of my posts as well.
In 2019, I published 49 blog articles on albrechtproductions.net that resulted in approximately 30.000 words and almost 100 working hours spent. Traffic-wise, 2019 was the most successful year of the AP blog to date - another reason to celebrate!
Those are the top 5 of blog articles published this year:
1) Guitar Cabinet Impulse Responses – The Best Stores & Freebies
2) Vampr – Tinder for Musicians
3) 50th Blog Article Anniversary – Q&A with Benjamin
4) Vocalizr – Connecting Singers & Producers From Around The World
5) Optimise Your Hackintosh For Audio Production
What Is Planned For 2020?
My plans for 2020 can be separated into personal and AP-related objectives.
I plan to start a Master of Business Administration (MBA) - International Business course in spring 2020. Therefore, more details will follow in the upcoming months. The MBA course is closely connected with my current position and tasks at the IT company, where I already celebrated my first anniversary in November. The studies will be extra-occupational next to my full-time employment at the company (see LinkedIn for details). The MBA will develop my academic and professional profile even further and may improve my overall ability running a business and leading people in a professional environment.
The main objective related to AlbrechtProductions is the release of my EP project in spring 2020. That will finally reveal what we were working on the past year. Additionally, I will continue my blog article publishing, so I also get closer and reach the 100th blog article milestone.
I wish you all the best possible start for the upcoming year and a happy new year! Good luck with everything in 2020!
